Hold Out Your Hand > You By My Side (1976)

At the beginning of the 1976 Solo Album tour, YES performed songs from each member’s solo albums. Unfortunately, not too long into the tour the solo material was dropped. Here is “Hold Out Your Hand/You By My Side” from Chris’ Fish Out of Water, taken from the very first night of the tour in Roanoke, VA, on May 28, 1976.

Wow! I have been looking for a recording of this for years. You’ve made my month! Thanks so much for posting this gem. Neat to hear how tight this was (With Moraz doing the studio keys, I guess it wasn’t too hard for the band to play it really great)

Granted, I'm listening to this thru PC speakers, but it sounds better than the Cassette have (I forget which show, but I know there were only like 5 or so boots with the solo tunes). Mine Was another classic F-.I'd say this is Maybe C-/D+.Hell, improvement is improvement, right? Cleaner mud is still cleaner!

Come to think of it, I'd rather have Yes do solos this way. Steve has been REALLLLLY mixing his up lately, but is used to be Mood/Clap only. Love em, but sick of 'em. Fish gets mixed up a bit recently too, but that got stale for a while too, excepting the group improv version from Yessongs. Solly's Beard… gimme something from Something To Hold On To please. The Key solos are usually good, but they never seem to change in the context of the paticular tour they are done in.So, yeah!
